Vegan Tropical Smoothie Recipe

We wanted to share this vegan tropical smoothie recipe, from our free Spring 10-Day Green Smoothie Challenge. This refreshing green smoothie tastes like sunshine and fresh air, and has incredible health benefits.

Health Benefits in our Tropical Green Smoothie

Basically, this smoothie is Queen ‘C’ in promoting health and wellness. It gives us an extra immunity boost this season, especially as Spring brings busy schedules and increasingly hectic days while the weather warms up. We encourage you to sip this tropical, vegan creation and do some deep breathing exercises, or maybe while spending time out in nature (anyone live near the beach?!).

While this vegan smoothie is a sweet treat, it is also an immunity-boosting, health machine with these additional health benefits…

Vitamin C

This smoothie contains over 100% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin C. This is an antioxidant that fights free radicals, which cause all kinds of chronic conditions. The CDC states 45% of adults in the US have hypertension, which can put us at risk for stroke or heart disease.

Potassium

This electrolyte lowers blood pressure, boosts energy, and fights fatigue. It also assists the body with digestion. Studies by the National Institute of Health show that daily consumption of potassium can improve bone health.

Vitamin B6

Our bodies need this vitamin to help metabolize protein, carbs, and fat. It also helps regulate our mood (read: happiness levels!), to help combat depression. The National Library of Medicine shows B6 may also aid in combating Alzheimer’s disease.

Folate

Folate is vital in mood regulation as well, so it is used to combat depression. It also aids in heart health. Pregnant women are encouraged to up their intake of folate to assist in fetal brain development. This vegan tropical smoothie will take that baby’s brain to genius level.

What’s in a Vegan Tropical Smoothie?

How do we get all the great health benefits into one smoothie? Let’s check out the rawkstar ingredient list:

  • Bananas: Rich in antioxidants that can fight cancer and aging.
  • Spinach: Can help oxygenate the blood, as well as promote skin, eye, and bone health.
  • Oranges: Helps lower blood pressure, as well as helps our skin glow.
  • Pineapple: Immune system boosting, promotes a healthy metabolism.

Is there dairy in tropical smoothies?

In our smoothie recipe, there is no dairy. We actually avoid all dairy in our smoothie recipes because it’s one of the most common food sensitivities. It can cause eczema, acne and other skin conditions, as well as digestive issues.
