Yes, this smoothie does taste every bit as good as its name would suggest :)
I’ve created many flavorful smoothies over the years, but can’t take credit for this one. This recipe comes by way of a recipe swap with Jeanine at BakersDozen.Kitchen. Jeanine’s site is loaded with delicious recipes like this one and information on health and nutrition. I recommend you stop by her site and try some of her recipes.
I made a slight modification to Jeanine’s End of Summer Peach Pie Smoothie by adding a little ghee because I was feeling the need for additional healthy fats and have been on a ghee kick lately. I also removed the “End of Summer” from the name because you can make this anytime of the year. It’s definitely a dessert worthy smoothie.
Yogurt and peach are the primary ingredients and lend some nice health benefits. Here’s what Jeanine wrote about them:
“Yogurt been called the original health food. It boosts your immune system, helping fight infections and ward off colds and flus. It provides half of your daily requirement for calcium and vitamin B12 and pitches in a good 10 to 12 percent of your daily need for magnesium and potassium.
Peaches are good for your eyes. Beta carotene improves vision health by increasing circulation of blood. Peaches also contain vitamin c as well as potassium which helps regulate heart beat and blood pressure. They also contain antioxidants which help control aging processes.”
The spices take this smoothie to another level of healthiness. Fire up your blender and get ready for a party in your mouth!
