Budget dinner: Pizza Bread Sticks

Brought to you in partnership with Woolworths.

Can you believe it’s 2019 and I still can’t get pizza delivered to my house? It’s kinda crazy. So of course we make-do and make it ourselves, but sometimes there’s no pizza bases in the house and no energy to make our own {I know, #lazy}. These pizza bread sticks are a really great alternative, and so easy to throw together, and also mix and match to suit your own cravings.

Feel like pepperoni, throw it on! Want ham and pineapple? Go crazy kiddo. My version is really just a start. You can also use grated cheese too, if you want it gooier.

I know things are about to get busy and crazy with Christmas, so I thought I’d share a few tips to saving money on dinners. My feeling is that over the silly season we’re spending more, and being invited out more so it’s good to throw a few of these easy $5 dinners into the mix.

You can also save money by doing the following:

+ going meat-free a few days a week. By keeping this recipe vego I’ve saved money. Even just a few days a week of eating meat-free helps cut costs.

+ look out for the Woolworths own brand products. They’re often cheaper than other brands, and just as great quality.

+ buy in bulk and save. If you know you’re going to use, buy the bigger sizes and save in the long run.

Do you have any tips to share on saving money on dinners? What’s your favourite low budget meal to feed the fam?

Here’s what I bought:
Woolworths Bread Stick – $1.50
Woolworths Tomatoes x 2 – $3.90 per kilo {65c for four serves}
Woolworths Tomato Paste – 80c for tin {80c for four serves}
Cherry Bocconicini Balls Tub – $4 per tub {$2 half tub for four serves}

Prices correct as at 14 October 2019.
